🌟 **We’re Excited to Introduce Our New Lab Technician!** 🌟

Please join us in welcoming Bard Alum Julia Beeman to the ES/CESH team!
With a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and an impressive track record as a Biology Lab Assistant for three years, Julia brings years of experience and passion to the Community Sciences Laboratory Technician role.

In addition to a full-time student load, she kept herself busy maintaining teaching and research labs, preparing equipment for biology courses, and serving as a Citizen Science Lab Fellow. She developed and led curriculum modules for over 40 students, showcasing strong teaching and leadership skills.

Academically, she tackled biostatistics, biological modeling, and unresolved ecological controversies, gaining proficiency in data science (R, Python, C++, and Java). Julia’s senior research project on the history and genetics of hops in the Americas highlights her ability to independently adapt to new protocols and technologies—a valuable asset for our evolving lab environment!

Beyond the lab, they’re passionate about connecting with nature through hiking and continuously expanding their programming skills. This drive for self-improvement and commitment to community aligns perfectly with our values.

We are absolutely thrilled to have such a well-rounded and dedicated individual join our team. Let’s give Julia a warm welcome! 🧪🌿
